Spring Garden rebounds with volleyball subregional road win at Tanner

TANNER – The Spring Garden Lady Panthers shook off a tough area volleyball championship loss to rival Sand Rock on Tuesday with a Class 2A subregional sweep at Tanner on Thursday evening. The scores were 25-16, 25-15, 25-8.

“I’m just proud we advanced and extended our season,” Spring Garden coach Ricky Austin said.

As Austin said, the Lady Panthers (32-7) will play Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the North Regional at Huntsville’s Von Braun Center against the winner of Friday’s subregional match between Westminster Christian and Pisgah.

Haleigh Molock led the Lady Panthers on Thursday with seven kills, a block and an ace. Neely Welsh added nine assists, two kills and two aces. Abbey Steward collected 11 assists. Suzie Carter came away with five kills and an assist.

Alle Jennings contributed three kills, an ace and a block. Autumn Sides posted three kills. Lexie Adkison added a kill. Abbie Woods delivered five aces. Bri Boles and Ramie Thacker both had an ace. Hope Highfield finished with a pair of kills.
