A Springville firefighter died during a training exercise Monday morning, according to the Calhoun County Coroner.
The training exercise took place at the Anniston Fire Training Center, an extension of the Alabama Fire College.
Authorities say the firefighter experienced a medical incident around 9:00 a.m. Monday and was taken to Anniston Regional Medical Center where he later died.
Identification of the firefighter is pending notification of all family members.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the death at this time.
