The 1st Annual Go Green for Grayson Fun Run Walk or Roll for Cerebral Palsy event brought a great crowd of participants and spectators to Warrior Stadium at Cherokee County High School over the weekend.
The event was held to help raise funding for Cerebral Palsy Awareness here in Cherokee County and to also help offset expenses for the construction of a swim spa for Grayson to use as part of her therapy – there were over 250 participants that took part in the event and almost $2,500 was raised.
Grayson is a resident of Centre and was born three months premature and suffered from hydrocephalus and two level three brain bleeds – however through the support of family and friends tremendous progress has been made to improve her condition – Cerebral Palsy does not get worse but rather can be improved based on the amount of therapy that is done to the muscles and body.
The day activities were brought to a close with an extremely surprising announcement – Randy Posey who works for the Birmingham based non-profit group known as ‘Magic Moments’ had a very special surprise for Grayson – click the video below to see Grayson’s Surprise announcement!
