State Fire Marshal’s Office Called In To Investigate Fire In Cedar Bluff

The State Fire Marshal’s Office along with Cherokee County’s Fire & Arson Investigator Shawn Rogers have taken over the investigation of a fire that destroyed one home and damaged two others in Cedar Bluff on Tuesday night.

State Fire Marshal Ray Cumby along with Rogers and Cedar Bluff Police Investigators returned to the scene Thursday morning searching for evidence that may lead them to what exactly caused the fire.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene on Main Street in Cedar Bluff shortly before 11:00 p.m. Tuesday after a Cedar Bluff Firefighter on his way to work noticed the blaze and radioed 9-1-1.

Units from the Centre and Gaylesville Fire Departments were also called to assist.

Evidence collected at the scene will be sent to the state crime lab for processing, due to the nature of the case Investigators say no additional information is being released at this time.
