State & Local Candidates Address Constituents At The 2018 Policital Forum Hosted By The Spring Creek Fire Department

A number of local and state candidates were in Cherokee County on Thursday evening to address constituents at the Cherokee County Health & Rehab Center Activity Building during a political forum sponsored by the Spring Creek Fire Department.

Among those that addressed the crowd was Joseph Siegelman and Rusty Glover who are both candidates for Lt. Governor for the State of Alabama, A representative from the Campaign of Walt Maddox for Governor spoke on his behalf, Craig Ford, candidate for State Senate for District 10, Marcia Sewell spoke on behalf of Andrew Jones who is also running for State Senate District 10.

Candidates for Circuit Judge in Cherokee & DeKalb counties also addressed those in attendance. Those include; Andrew Hairston, Scott Lloyd and Jeff McCurdy. Ginny Shaver is seeking the seat of State Representative District 39 currently held by Richard Lindsey.

Current County Commissioner Kimball Parker is seeking reelection; Parker will be opposed by Cherokee County Veterinarian Dr. Roger Nichols.   

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver was also in attendance and spoke on some the issues he will be addressing if he reelected to the office he has held for the last 12 years. Shaver is being opposed by Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship.

Candidates for the Cherokee County Board of Education were also present to address the audience, those include; Suzanne Bishop, Lisa Chandler, Lisa McKissick, Erica Brown and Michael Westbrook.
