State Sees Record Jump in Confirmed COVID-19 Cases from Saturday to Sunday at 1,000+

For the first time since tracking began the number of coronavirus cases in the state grew by more than 1,000 in a single day, and that was from Saturday to Sunday – June 13th to 14th.

The Alabama Department of Public Health’s June 14th 10:00am numbers showed 25,235 cases in the state – a jump of 1,014 from the day before.  The increase comes on the heels of three days where the number of new cases topped 800, while the number of deaths from the virus stayed at 768.

According to the ADPH, there were 540 hospitalizations from the virus as of Sunday; that’s down from a high of 647 on June 11th.
