State Troopers Release Name of Victim in Weekend Car Crash

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has released the name of the person fatally injured in a single-vehicle crash occurring in Gaylesville on Saturday night – Kaleb Self, age 17 from Cedar Bluff was killed the 2007 Nissan Maxima he was a passenger in , veered off County Road 91 and crashed into several trees.

That wreck, which took place at the intersection of County Road 635 around 10:00pm, left four others injured; one person had to be extricated from the vehicle and two others were ejected.

No additional information has been released regarding the condition of the four survivors.

Members of the Gaylesville Fire Department, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Centre, Cedar Bluff and Leesburg police officers, multiple units from Floyd EMS and the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.

That accident remains under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
