State Troopers Respond to Three Accidents with Injuries in Cherokee County on Wednesday Morning / UPDATED

State Troopers worked three separate auto accidents involving injuries early Wednesday in Cherokee County.

The first occurred at 5:16am on the Chesnut Bypass involving a 2015 Chevrolet driven by a male resident of Centre and a 2016 Dodge being driven by a male resident of Leesburg both of whom were listed on the report as being hurt in the mishap.  Troopers worked the wreck even though it was within the city limits – because one of those two vehicles involved was a City of Centre police car, and in such a case another agency must be called in.

The second accident took place at 5:45 on Alabama Highway 9 – close to the intersection of County Road 51, with the 2017 Ford being driven by a male resident of Cedar Bluff winding up in a ditch by the roadside.  The driver of that vehicle was listed as being injured as well.

The third wreck took place a short time later, at 7:13am, this one also on Alabama Highway 9 involving a 2005 Chrysler being driven by a male resident of Gaylesville who was listed as being hurt in the mishap.  Reportedly. the accident occurred near the intersection of County Road 380 when a deer crashed into the windshield of the vehicle.

No additional information was available regarding the condition of any of those involved.

All three accidents remain under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
