Steward’s eight treys lifts Spring Garden girls past Cedartown

SPRING GARDEN – Abbey Steward connected on eight 3-pointers and finished with 26 first-half points, leading Class 2A, No. 2 Spring Garden to an 82-37 girls basketball win over visiting Cedartown, Ga., on Saturday.

Sarah Kate McKay sank a pair of treys and had 17 points for the Lady Panthers (24-2). She also had four rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block.

Maggie Jarrett contributed 15 points, six boards, three assists, two steals and a block. Lexy Adkison added 12 points, seven rebounds, two steals, two blocks and an assist. Ace Austin finished with 12 points, 12 assists, six steals, three boards and two blocks.

Spring Garden hosts Cleburne County on Monday.
