Stolen Jeep Recovered in Northwest Georgia / Investigation is On-Going

According to the Summerville Police Department, a vehicle reported stolen was later recovered on the side of the road after a tip lead to the location.

Officers met with Willie Patrick Adams – who stated that his silver, 2003 Jeep Liberty had been stolen.  He said the Jeep was missing when he arrived home from work.  Adams also advised that the keys may have been in it.

Later that same evening, Adams called police officers back, and let them know he had received a tip that his Jeep had been spotted in the Dry Valley area.  A search of the general northwest Summerville area led to the vehicle being found on McKenzie Street – with the doors locked and no ignition key in sight.,  There was also disabling damage to the front, drivers side, wheel area.

A tow truck was called to pick up the Jeep and it was later released back to Adams.

The case is still under investigation
