Brief but strong thunderstorms rumbled through the Cherokee County area on Thursday – we measured just over a half inch of rainfall.
A storm passed through the area during the late afternoon hours and brought some torrential downpours and high winds. In Centre, a large tree fell across a power-line on South Pratt Street at the intersection with McSpadden Circle near the WEIS Radio Studios.
Power was out across the Centre area for a brief period of time as Cherokee Electric Crews had to remove the lines from the tree.
There were no other reports of any damage in the area.
