Firefighters were called to a report of a structure fire at a location on County Road 725 at the Waterhouse Campground in Cedar Bluff just before 1:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. According to fire officials it was a boat house and storage building that was on fire.
The Cedar Bluff, Gaylesville and Centre Fire Departments in addition to Floyd EMS units were called to the scene. Firefighters reported heavy smoke visible as they were enroute and shortly before they arrived Cherokee County 9-1-1 received a call stating that there was a building storing gas close to the fire.
It’s not known at this time what started the fire, it appears that there were no injuries reported.
