A Chattooga County resident was killed in a single-vehicle crash during the early morning hours of Thursday.
According to the accident report, 59 year old David Chesley of Summerville was traveling to work in Rome, when he lost control of his pickup truck on Highway 100 at around 5:30am; the vehicle struck an embankment and flipped.
Chesley was reportedly wearing his seatbelt at the time, but the impact of the crash proved fatal.
That accident remains under investigation by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
