Summerville Police Still Searching for Driver Who Bailed Out and Fled Following Traffic Stop

Summerville Police Officers are still on the lookout for a driver who bailed out of a vehicle on Bittings Avenue on Christmas Eve after an officer attempted a traffic stop; according to a report released late last week by the Summerville PD a patrol officer had attempted to stop a black, 2009 Dodge Journey that was speeding on Scoggins Street.  The officer stopped the car behind Hammond Auto Parts and the driver then jumped out and ran – leaving the keys in the ignition.

Police say that the vehicle was later reported stolen by Summerville resident – Torria Ludy, who told police that someone had stolen the Dodge from her residence on Hawkins Drive.

Ms. Ludy provided investigators with two names of possible suspects.

The case remains under investigation by Summerville Police.
