Summerville Woman Charged In Stabbing Incident

A Summerville woman was recently jailed on charges of Aggravated Assault after she allegedly stabbed a man.

According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department, the victim, Ray Thomson was sitting in a garage playing cards with friends when 44-year old Tammie Thompson came in and the two began arguing.

At some point during the argument, Tammie Thompson pulled a knife and began to stab Mr. Thompson.

After being stabbed, Mr. Thompson was being transported by car to Rome to a hospital by his nephew but was losing a lot of blood.

The nephew stopped on Highway 114 at the Pure Stop in Summerville and flagged down a Georgia State Trooper who summoned an ambulance for Mr. Thompson.

At one point Ray Thompson was listed in critical condition because of the amount of blood he had lost.

Authorities say that they are still investigating the motive behind the stabbing.
