Very little information has been released at this time however WEIS Radio News has been made aware of a brief manhunt that occurred in the Frog Mountain area of Cherokee County on Tuesday.
We contacted Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver concerning the situation and he told us that Floyd County authorities pursued a vehicle into Cherokee County. The driver, who has not been identified, drove the vehicle into a wooded area near Frog Mountain and fled on foot.
It is unknown at this time exactly why the suspect fled or if he had active warrants in Alabama or Georgia.
Sheriff Shaver said that a number of law enforcement officials combed and searched the area but the suspect was able to evade arrest.
