Suspects Arrested In Connection To Burglary At Two Cedar Bluff Churches

The suspects responsible for breaking into two Cedar Bluff Churches are now behind bars on Felony and Misdemeanor Charges.

According to Sgt/Investigator Jp Curry with the Cedar Bluff Police Department 20 year old Dustin Eugene Mullins of Gaylesville and 18 year old Xzavire Raekwon Hood of Cedar Bluff were arrested on felony charges of Burglary 3rd Degree two counts and Misdemeanor charges of Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree.

The pair was also arrested after being captured on camera breaking into the Coin Laundry in Cedar Bluff last Thursday, the same night the churches were burglarized. They were later released after posting a bond at the Cedar Bluff Police Department and additional warrants were signed on Tuesday.

Sgt. Curry said that Hood and Mullins broke the exterior doors of both churches and then kicked or pried open several doors once inside the buildings.

According to Curry the suspects said that they were looking for money to help their families pay bills.

Sgt. Curry said that nothing was taken during any of the burglaries; both suspects remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.

Cedar Bluff Police Chief Steve Walden said that he would like to commend his officers and investigators for their hard work and long man hours involved in bringing this case to a close.
