Two Geraldine school teachers that had been placed on Leave by the DeKalb County Board of Education have now stepped down.
The school system suspended Pam Smothers Deere on April 14th, and Pascha Thacker Orr, two days later; school leaders have steadfastly refused to discuss the reasons behind those suspensions.
Deere, who was a second grade teacher, has chosen to retire – while Orr, who taught family and consumer science, has resigned.
Deere’s retirement will take effect on July 1st and Orr’s resignation becomes effective June 10th.
