An inmate at the Talladega County Jail who managed to escape around 2:00am Thursday, is now back in custody after being located in Ohatchee by U.S. Marshals.
Timothy Allen Phillips of Trussville was being held on federal firearms charges; the 38 year old was seen on video cutting a bar, and then burning the heavy plastic window to make his escape. A number of additional charges are pending.
When speaking to media outlets following Phillips’ making his way out of jail, Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore was confident he’d soon be caught, saying “He’ll be back, and for a longer period of time.”
