Team Cherokee Earns “Think” Award At Robotics World Tournament

Team Cherokee 1The Cherokee County Robotics Team enjoyed a very successful World Robotics Tournament over the weekend – bringing home the “Think” Award which is associated with programming.

Randy Rainey who is one of the coaches for the team said he would like to offer a special thanks to Dru Rainer for his exceptional programming skills.

The team worked their way into the semi-finals at the VEX Robotics World Championships in Anaheim, California on Saturday; they were paired with the team representing China.

The Team Cherokee/China Alliance Team ended up finishing 7th; Team Cherokee was 13th in the world individually.

Mr. Rainey told WEIS Radio News that would like to extend thanks to everyone especially those who sponsored the team, making the trip possible.
