Teens Convicted of Murder Sentenced to Life Plus 35 Years for Chattooga County Slaying

Two Floyd County teenagers convicted of murder are scheduled to be sentenced Monday in Chattooga County Superior Court.

Dylon Dave Allen and Zaykives Banard McCray, both 18 of Rome, were accused of breaking into the Melanie Inn convenience store located on Hawkins Drive in Summerville, January 16th of 2016 and shooting the clerk, 47 year old Chiragkumar Patel in the stomach. 

Patel later died in an area hospital as a result of his wound.

According to testimony last week in Superior Court – the pair stole $350, cigars, cigarettes, a roll of pennies and a bag of chips.
