Temporary Diversion for Traffic on Alabama Highway 68 IS NOW IN PLACE.

According to Seth Burkett, the Public Information for the Northern Division of the Alabama Department of Transportation, the temporary diversion for traffic on Alabama Highway 68 IS NOW IN PLACE.  Alabama 68 traffic HAS NOW been shifted to that temporary diversion – which is expected according to Burkett to be in place anywhere from two to three months – at the old Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia Railroad, north of Leesburg in Cherokee County, to allow for demolition of a bridge constructed in 1941.

Again – that diversion is NOW IN PLACE following a temporary delay from the original start date previously announced by ALDOT.
