The Alabama Department of Public Health reported 1,923 new COVID-19 cases occurring between Wednesday and Thursday – bringing the total to 83,495 cases.  

Alabama has tested 169,882 people for coronavirus in the last two weeks, and of the recent tests, 21,956 were positive.

As of Thursday, there had been 35,401 presumed recoveries statewide.

According to the latest data for Cherokee County – a total of 217 confirmed cases have been reported since March the 13th; another 17 having been listed as “probable” – with a total of seven deaths resulting from the illness and one other listed as “probable” in that category.

Out of a total of 605 tests administered during the past 14 days a total of 68 positive results have been returned locally.

According to the ADPH 41% of Alabama’s coronavirus cases are among those between ages 25 and 49.
