The Internet Loves This Family's Real Holiday Photo, It's 'What My Family Is Like'

Sam Interrante/www.saminterrante.com(LANCASTER, Pa.) — One Pennsylvania father said he wanted a “more stoic” family photo for his holiday card, but instead he got a silly one.

When Jeff Frandsen’s 10-month-old daughter Emerson yanked his glasses off during the family’s first photo shoot for the holidays, it created a viral photo, making the Internet laugh.

“It was getting a little rough. We were maybe shooting for about 5 or 10 minutes total,” the Lancaster, Pennsylvania, man recalled.

“My wife [Liz] put her hand on my shoulder and Emerson just randomly reached out and grabbed the side of my glasses, which she does every single day,” Frandsen said. “I didn’t see her coming.”

“It was better than we could’ve imagined,” he added of the snapshot. “It’s the epitome of what my family is like.”

Frandsen, 29, noted that the family’s dog — 2-year-old Frankie, a miniature goldendoodle — was the only one picture perfect.

“She was the most the calm and it’s usually not the way,” he said, laughing.

Although the photo quickly went viral on Reddit and Facebook, Frandsen said he won’t be sending that photo around to family and friends.

“We’re going to use the more stoic one,” he said, “only because we felt like this card will like introduce Emerson to our family to family and friends who haven’t met her.

“While it’s funny, her arm is really blocking her face,” Frandsen added.

The new dad is also excited to introduce the holidays to his daughter for the first time.

“Getting to experience this holiday and especially Christmas morning as a family of three — four if you count Frankie, which we definitely do — it’s been a milestone year for us,” Frandsen gushed.

“To be able to celebrate with a child now, it’s going to be awesome,” he said.
