The Llama Drama is Over

The llama drama is apparently over.

Dr. Jeremy Deaton has informed WEIS Radio News that the llama that was running loose in the Northwood and Powell Drive area in Centre over the last couple of days is now back at home on a local farm.

The animal, which had seen fit to make a break for it and go on the lamb, had been running loose around the area and had been spotted grazing around Floyd Cherokee Medical Center – prompting Dr. Jeremy Deaton, consulting Veterinarian for Animal Control – to encourage local citizens to be aware that the animal could pose a serious risk to motorists if they were to strike it, as an adult llama can weigh upwards of 500 pounds.

Llamas have also been shown to carry and transmit the Rabies virus, so it was important to avoid contact with the animal because at that point it was unclear where it came from.

And in response to many, many of our Facebook posts from Napoleon Dynamite fans, we’re still not sure if the llama’s name is or is not “Tina”.
