The Spring Garden Fire Department Purchases New Tanker Truck Through Assistance To Firefighters Grant

The Spring Garden Fire Department is pleased to announce that they have purchased a 2018 model 3000 gallon pumper/tanker from Deep South Fire.

Chief Butch Jacobs said that the addition of this unit to the fleet will allow his department to provide more efficient services to the fire protection district and to the adjoining communities in which they provide mutual/automatic aid.

Jacobs said that the purchase was made possible by the department receiving a FEMA grant through the 2017 Assistance to Firefighters Program and through the continued support of the community.

Jacobs said “we are blessed to live in a community that supports our fire department. Without the continued support of the community we could not have paid for the extras and the matching funds needed to get the truck we needed to provide the type of fire protection we feel our community and adjoining communities need and deserve.”

The department would also like to extend their appreciation to JMCM Consulting, Congressman Mike Rogers and Representative Richard Lindsey for all their support and help with obtaining the grant.
