“The Voice” Recap: Alicia Keys Loses an Artist

Sa’Rayah performs on “The Voice”; Tyler Golden/NBC(LOS ANGELES) — On Tuesday’s episode of The Voice, the 12 artists who performed Monday learned that Sa’Rayah, from Alicia Keys’ team, was sent home.

Sa’Rayah was eliminated on a one-hour results show. She lost an “Instant Save” vote to Team Miley Cyrus’ Aaron Gibson.

Prior to the vote, Sa’Rayah and Aaron sang for an opportunity to be saved by the viewers. Sa’Rayah performed “Rock Steady” by Aretha Franklin, and Aaron covered “Lego House” by Ed Sheeran.

There are now 11 artists remaining in the competition, including those of Teams Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

During the results show, Adam and Miley each joined their respective teams for a group performance. Team Adam sang “For What It’s Worth,” by Buffalo Springfield, and Team Miley performed “There’ll Always Be Music,” by Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner.

Keys, who was scheduled to perform “Blended Family (What You Do for Love),” the new song from her album Here, sang just a snippet, before announcing that “because of the current climate, there’s only one song I can sing.” She then performed another track off the album, “Holy War,” backed by fellow coach Adam Levine on guitar.

The Voice returns Monday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
