(LOS ANGELES) — The Voice held its final blind auditions on Tuesday night, with coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson aiming to round out their teams. By the end of the night, each coach had 12 artists on his or her roster.
The one-hour episode was highlighted in part by Miley making Voice “herstory” by fielding the first all-female team.
Here are the highlights of Tuesday night’s show:
Country singer Kristi Hoopes covered Trisha Yearwood’s “Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love,” getting Blake, Adam and Jennifer to turn their chairs around. Knowing Blake would be Kristi’s obvious first choice, both Adam and Jennifer pleaded with the artist to “think outside the box.” However, Blake’s declaration, “What I do is country freakin’ music” convinced her to pick Blake, filling out his team.
In high school, wrestler Jeremiah Miller was known for singing the national anthem before beating his opponents. Upon his recent graduation, however, Miller decided to follow his true passion — music. Jeremiah’s version of “Slow Hands” by Niall Horan, touched off a battle between Adam and Jennifer. In spite of some flaws, Adam saw some “raw qualities” in Miller’s voice that he believed could turn him from “a good singer to a great singer.” Jennifer appealed to the Jeremiah’s Christian upbringing, saying all he needed was “an inch of faith the size of a mustard seed” to “make it mighty far.” Miller picked Jennifer, completing Team JHud.
San Francisco didn’t offer much of an opportunity for country singer Megan Rose, so she sees The Voice as her ticket to a music career. Rose’s cover of Bobbie Gentry’s “Ode to Billie Joe” sparked a battle between Adam and Miley. Cyrus — on the verge of making Voice “herstory” with the show’s first all-female team – begged Megan to help her make her dream a reality. Adam insisted the artist make her decision based on who would be the better coach. Miley won out and filled the last spot on her team.
Gary Carpentier was a talented high school baseball player who missed out on a college career due to poor grades, so he turned to music instead. His cover of “Home” by Michael Bublé, convinced Adam – the last coach left with a spot to fill, to turn his chair around. Gary’s “smooth, rich tone” caught Adam’s attention, and helped him nail down the final spot on Team Adam.

Team Miley: Addison Agen, Sophia Bollman, Ashland Craft, Moriah Formica, Janice Freeman, Shilo Gold, Chloe Kohanski, Katrina Rose, Megan Rose, Brooke Simpson, Ilianna Viramontes, Karli Webster.
Team Jennifer: Ignatious Caramouche, Kathrina Feigh, Davon Fleming, Lucas Holliday, Shi’Ann Jones, Alexandra Joyce, Eric Lyn, Maharasyi, Stephan Marcellus, Meagan McNeal, Jeremiah Miller, Chris Weaver.
The Voice battles kick off next week, with the help of the following advisers: DNCE’s Joe Jonas for Team Adam, Rascal Flatts for Team Blake, ex-Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland for Team Jennifer and Billy Ray Cyrus for Team Miley.
