TheatreCentre “Shrek the Musical, Jr.” Cast Members Visit the WEIS Radio Studios

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek the Musical JR. which is based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical.

It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance.  Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family – and the TheatreCentre production puts it on unique stamp on the adventure this Thursday – Saturday at the First United Methodist Church Edge Building in Centre.

Three of those “responsible” stopped by the WEIS Radio studio Tuesday morning to discuss the presentation, including director Kelly Turner – Daniel Garrett, who stars as Shrek – and MaKenzie Green, who is the choreographer and plays the role of Peter Pan as well.

Kelly Turner gave us an idea of what the audience can look forward to:

Morning Show Host Jerry Baker spoke with Daniel about his role as Shrek:

Daniel certainly seems to have the role of Shrek down “pat”, and thoroughly enjoys the idea of bringing the character to life through dress rehearsals with other cast members, and this is no small production, as it features a total of 42 cast members.

Also in the studio was MaKenzie Green, who has a dual role in the production:

Performances are at 7:00 each evening, again that’s Thursday – Saturday, at the First United Methodist Church Edge Building on Main Street in Centre.
