TheatreCentre Presents “The Lions King, Jr.” this Thursday through Saturday

TheatreCentre’s newest production is slated to open this week – and Director Amy Bennett, along with several of the performers stopped by the WEIS Radio studio this week to discuss the process of bringing this exciting, fun-filled family adventure to life:

During their visit with morning show host Jerry Baker, cast members shared their thoughts on appearing before an audience, some for the first time; the process of learning dialogue in addition to interacting with others on the stage and the feeling of accomplishment after the initial fear of performing has been overcome.

The cast ranges in age from six to nineteen.

There was a special sneak peek performance by cast members at the most recent Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Breakfast, held in the arena on the campus of Gadsden State Cherokee which went over extremely well – that performance included musical numbers in their early stages, which were already powerful enough to bring thunderous applause from the crowd.

Again, performances will be this Thursday, Friday and Saturday (August 10th – 12th) at the Centre First United Methodist Church Edge Worship Center beginning at 7:00 each evening.
