This Week Is Severe Weather Awareness Week In Alabama

This week officially kicks off Alabama Severe Weather Awareness Week as declared by Alabama Governor, Kay Ivey.

The Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency and other supporting organizations want to make sure you are prepared for severe weather. Advance planning and increased awareness will help residents prepare for potentially deadly storms.

Daily topics throughout the week will include:
• Monday: Severe Thunderstorms
• Tuesday: Flooding & Flash Flooding
• Wednesday: Tornadoes (special 9 a.m. NOAA Radio tornado safety drill)
• Thursday: Lightning
• Friday: Receiving Weather Alerts
