Three Accused of Plotting Terrorist Activities Scheduled to Go to Trial in June

Terror 1The three men accused of plotting to sabotage power transfer stations and water treatment facilities are scheduled to stand trial in Floyd County on June 15th.

Brian Edward Cannon, Cory Robert Williamson and Terry Eugene Peace have been held on federal firearms and explosives charges since their arrests in February of last year (2014).

According to warrants filed in U.S. District Court in Rome, their alleged mission was to be launched in February against the federal government.

Cannon reportedly had a conversation obtained by the FBI in which he described targeting power transfer stations and water treatment plants.

The three were hoping to obtain 12 pipe bombs and two thermite devices.

They were arrested in Cartersville as they attempted to obtain the explosives. The warrant says three rifles were found in the cab of a truck, and Peace and Cannon were both carrying pistols.
