Three Arrested In Dekalb County Burglary

Dekalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports the arrest of three individuals for the burglary of a residence near Fyffe.

On Sunday June 23rd, a neighbor spotted a suspicious vehicle at an unoccupied residence and notified the property owner. The neighbor followed the vehicle for awhile and lost sight of the vehicle. When the home owner got in the area he saw the vehicle and started following it while notifying Fyffe Police Department.

The occupants of the vehicle began to throw items from the vehicle as they fled toward Jackson County. At one point a white male exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Fyffe Police stopped the vehicle the vehicle near Buck’s Pocket and detained the 2 remaining suspects. When DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Investigator was leaving the area he saw a male matching the description on foot near the area on County Road 43. The person was identified and detained.

After positive identification and return of the stolen items, 44-year old James Edward Threet, 48-year old Royce Flynn Dowdy and 28-year old Anthony Scott Presley Jr. all of Grove Oak were arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd.

The suspects were transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center where they await bond.

In a separate incident another burglary was reported in the area of County Road 386 in the Aroney community. Deputies received reports of stolen property being at the residence of 32-year old Curtis Renfroe of County Road 386.

When DeKalb County Deputies and Drug Task Force Agents went to Renfroe’s residence they saw the stolen property at the house in plain view. Drug Task Force Agents got consent to search the residence. During the search of the home they found Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia.

Renfroe was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug paraphernalia and Burglary 3rd.
