Rome Police say three individuals had been keeping a padlock on a refrigerator to keep five children from gaining access to it.
According to Floyd County jail reports, police arrested 51 year old Richard Carl Calvert, 28 year old Brandie Marshall Wheeler and 55 year old Belinda Henagar Hick – charging them with five counts each of second degree cruelty to children.
Calvert and Hicks were also charged with two counts of false imprisonment and two counts of reckless conduct. They allegedly kept two of the children behind a locked door.
All three remain in the Floyd County Jail.
No other information is being released at this time.
