Three Injured After A Vehicle Strikes A Horse Carriage On County Road 255

Three people were injured after a vehicle struck a horse and buggy on County Road 255 off of County Road 22 six miles north of Centre just after 7:00 p.m. Friday.

According to McCords Fire Department Chief Rich Lindsey, one of the patients, whose conditions was described as critical, was taken by EMS ground units to an area trauma center for treatment while two others suffered only minor injuries.

Both were treated at the scene by fire department and EMS personnel.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report list those injured as 52 year old Jack May and 67 year old George Waldrop both of Centre. Those dispatched to the scene included; Cherokee EMS, Redmond EMS, Rescue Squad Personnel, the McCords Fire Department, Sheriff’s Office deputies and Alabama State Troopers.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
