Three Injured In A Two Vehicle Accident On Highway 9 South

Three people were injured in a two car crash occurring on Highway 9 South near the intersection of County Road 175 (Fred Roberts Curve) in Ellisville on Tuesday morning.

One vehicle overturned in the middle of Highway 9 blocking both lanes of traffic – a second vehicle involved left the roadway, crashed through a fence and struck a tree. One person was carried from the scene to a landing zone at Goshen Church and airlifted to a nearby trauma center for treatment. One other was taken by Piedmont Rescue to the hospital and a third victim was taken to the hospital by personal vehicle.

That portion of Highway 9 South was shut down in both directions for an extended period of time as wrecker crews worked to clear the scene.

Piedmont Rescue, Floyd EMS, Ellisville Fire Department and Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene.

We will have more information as soon as the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report is available.
