Three Injured, One Airlifted In Two Car Crash On Highway 68 West On Friday

A total of three people were injured following a two vehicle crash taking place on Friday afternoon on Alabama Highway 68 West near the top of the mountain between Leesburg and Sand Rock.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report that mishap occurred at 4:23 p.m. and involved a 2002 Ford being driven by Marcus Rodriguez, he along with two passengers listed on the report as Jacob Rodriguez and John Ruiz were injured in the crash.

Marcus Rodriguez and Ruiz were taken by ambulance to a Gadsden hospital while Jacob Rodriguez was airlifted to UAB Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. The report did not that all three were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident

The second was listed on the report as a 2000 Ford; no one in that vehicle was listed on the report as being injured.
