Three Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision Near Etowah/Blount County Line

Three people are confirmed dead following a two-vehicle wreck during the early morning hours of Saturday near the Etowah/Blount County line.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, Michael Anthony Bryant of Oneonta, age 46, was fatally injured, when the 2006 Ford 500 he was driving crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 1995 Chevy Blazer.

That crash took place on Alabama Highway 132 approximately two miles south of Altoona, just after midnight at 12:10am.

Troopers state that Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene and both the driver of the blazer – 47 year old Rhonda Smith Guice from Altoona and a passenger in the vehicle, Carmen Alondra Catete, age 22 of Rainbow City, were killed.

According to the report, Bryant was not wearing a seat belt.

That wreck remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
