Three Rome Residents Arrested on Drug and Theft Charges

Three Rome residents have been arrested on drug and theft charges at a King’s Court residence.

39 year old David Robert Downs, Jr., 32 year old Mikeyshia Dawn Smith and 37 year old Petrina Jean Turner – were arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and the Possession of Drug-Related Objects.

Smith also faces two felony counts of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property for being in possession of a 2003 Dodge Dakota stolen out of Gordon County. Officers discovered the key to the truck in Smith’s purse.

Downs is also charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property after allegedly stealing in excess of $1,500 worth of jewelry from a home on Shorter Avenue.  Reports indicated that he had stolen gold necklaces and bracelets, diamond necklaces and other items.
