Three Women Charged with Felony Chemical Endangerment of a Child

CE 00Three Etowah County women have been charged with Chemical Endangerment of a Child.

Both 28 year old Attalla resident Ashton Lauren Wood and her newborn tested positive for amphetamines following the birth of the child. Wood will be supervised by the Community Corrections Department and must comply with DHR requirements; she won’t be allowed to make bond – which has been set at $10,000 – until she gives a negative drug test.

25 year old Jessica Amber Abner of Gadsden and her baby both tested positive for cocaine – her bond has also been set at $10,000. She must enroll at the Court Referral Office, and will be required to complete a drug program.

Keeley Elizabeth McCain, age 24 of Attalla, admitted to using and tested positive for, crystal methamphetamine during her pregnancy. Her bond has been set at $5,000 and she will be supervised by Community Corrections.

Those cases are being worked by the Alabama Department of Human Resources in Etowah County.
