A strong storm front rumbled across Cherokee County on Wednesday night, leaving behind a number of downed trees in various communities – including County Road 427 at Tucker’s Chapel; County Roads 44 and 144 in Cedar Bluff; and County Roads 22 and 797 in the Kirk’s Grove area. During the peak of the storms we had reports of 60 mph winds.
We’ve had no reports of any property damage occurring in the county.
The severe weather was relatively short-lived with the severe thunderstorm warning going into effect just after 7:00pm and being over by 8:15.
