Time to Register to Vote is Running Out

Alabama voters are down to the final few days in which to register to vote in the November 6th election.

State law sets the deadline to register at 15 days prior to the election, which makes October 22nd the last day.  Voters can register online on the Secretary of State’s website.  Voters can also update their registration information if they have moved.  For those not able to make it to the polls on Election Day, the last day to apply for an absentee ballot is November 1st.

About 900,000 voters participated in the June 5th primary – 26.6% of the state’s registered voters. Approximately 590,000 people voted in the Republican primary for governor, that’s compared to about 283,000 in the Democratic primary.
