A toddler was killed after being hit by a car. Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown says 20-month-old David Clifton wandered out of his home Sunday afternoon and into the street. Oxford Police and EMS personnel responded to the home on East Brook Drive.
The child was taken to Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Law enforcement says the driver of the car stayed at the scene and was cooperative. The investigation is still ongoing, but there is no indication there will be any charges.
