Tom Brady Pokes Fun at Deflategate in Foot Locker Ad

Allen Kee / ESPN Images(NEW YORK) — Tom Brady is finding humor in Deflategate. It comes in the form of a new Foot Locker ad during the company’s Week of Greatness, a week dedicated to the release of their newest shoes.

In the ad that debuted Wednesday, the New England Patriots’ quarterback spots two fans in a diner that recently bought new shoes and wondered how Foot Locker has maintained success over the years. Brady overhears them and interjects saying, “Just because something is great year after year doesn’t mean anything is going on.”

He continues on to say, “Why can’t some things just be great? It starts with questions, and then questions turn into assumptions, and then assumptions turn into vacations. So why would you punish the Week of Greatness for something that never even happened?”

Brady was suspended for the first four games of the season for allegedly deflating footballs in the 2015 AFC title game.
