Log Truck Overturns On Highway 9 South In Piedmont

The driver of a log truck fortunately suffered only minor injuries after flipping his big rig and spilling logs onto the roadway on Wednesday afternoon.

That accident took place at the Highway 278 intersection with Highway 9 South in Piedmont near the Mapco service station.

According to Piedmont Police Chief Freddie Norton the driver, a 64 year old resident from Lineville was taken to Jacksonville Medical for treatment.

Piedmont Police, Fire & Rescue all responded to the scene, it took crews several hours to clear the logs and remove the truck from the roadway.
