A traffic stop on Thursday resulted in the arrest of two Piedmont residents on drug charges.
According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, officers with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division arrested 43-year old Valerie Denise Finch and 40-year old Robert Heath Troxtel for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Finch was additionally charged with second degree promoting prison contraband after she attempted to smuggle methamphetamine inside the Cherokee County Detention Center.
Both remain jailed pending a bond hearing.
