The Georgia Department of Public Health will be in Trion, Georgia, Wednesday, to offer free screenings for tuberculosis after a Trion High School student tested positive last week.
Trion City School Superintendent Dr. Phil Williams stated that the school system is working closely with the Georgia Department of Public Health on the matter.
The school system will be offering the free TB test to any student concerned about possible exposure.
The test will be offered in the Trion Elementary School Gym from 8:30am – 7:00pm.
The skin test reading will also be conducted Friday (June 1st), from 8:30am – 7:00pm.
Information about tuberculosis is available from your local health department and through the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.
