Cherokee County Authorities Recover Stolen Truck, Two Arrested In Connection With The Incident

A truck reported stolen in Piedmont has been recovered.

Cherokee County Chief Deputy Tim Hays and Sheriff’s Office investigators located the truck at a residence on U.S. Hwy 411 north of Centre on Wednesday.

During the investigation, illegal drugs were also discovered at the residence.  36 year old Stacy Robert Donaldson of Piedmont and 29 year old Merissa Skylar Mobbs of Centre were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Donaldson was also charged with resisting arrest.

In a separate incident, investigators arrested 47 year-old Jeff Harrison Pope, of Cedartown, Georgia, for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

JeffPopePope’s arrest came after investigators discovered him and others destroying property in the Talladega National Forest along U.S. Hwy 278.

All three remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center pending bond.
