Two Alabama Residents Arrested For Smoking Pot Out Of A Soda Can In The Wal-Mart Parking Lot In Trion

An anonymous tip led to two people being arrested in the Trion Walmart parking lot Sunday for smoking marijuana out of a Dr. Pepper can.

A county sheriff’s corporal responded to the parking lot following the tip around 10 PM Sunday night. He viewed three people inside black Mazda 6 with an Alabama tag smoking something from a can of Dr. Pepper. He then contacted the driver, 20-year-old Travis Jordan, and told him the reason he was talking to him.

The back seat passenger, Brandon Harris, produced the can containing burnt marijuana residue.

Neither Jordan nor Harris had any narcotics on their persons, but their female passenger 18-year-old Amy Prestwood admitted to having a gram of marijuana shoved down the front of her pants. The corporal asked Prestwood to turn and face the vehicle, and she pulled the small clear plastic baggie from her pants waistband.

Driver Travis Jordan was arrested after he was found to have a warrant for his arrest out in Dekalb County, Alabama for a Probation Violation charge.

Prestwood was also placed into custody for marijuana possession (Less Than One Ounce), and passenger Brandon Harris was released at the scene.
