Two Arrested at Gadsden Apartment Complex; Infant Placed in Custody of DHR

DHRDHR now has custody of an infant, after the child was removed from a home in which drugs and a stolen gun had been found on Tuesday.

After receiving reports of suspected drug activity officers responded to an apartment in the 1100 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue in Gadsden. They observed a man with an infant walking back and forth from the apartment to a car, and when they knocked on the front door, they detected a strong odor of marijuana and heard a toilet flushing.

Inside the car, police found a Glock 21 with a 25-round magazine – the gun was reportedly stolen; they also discovered what was believed to be marijuana, along with a set of scales, inside the apartment.

39 year old Corian Moore was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property – while 20 year old Khadijah Nashone Byers was arrested on charges of Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
